Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Can my ex-husband stop child support?
My daughter is turning 18 in Sept. She graduates HS in 2009. I have a divorce decree that says child support will be reviewed once my ex-husband retires from the military. My child support amount includes two other children.

Re: Can my ex-husband stop child support?
If the child support amount is set for all three children, then it will not automatically change when your daughter turns 18 or graduates. The ex-husband may request a modification when she turns 18 though so that the child support can be recalculated for just the two younger children. Of course, your Order that set the child support can include additional changes and/or basis for modifications.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
