Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

I am about to file for child support for my son, I dont want to put my foot in mouth and get less out of what he sometimes pay I need to know how child support is calculated. I just need my sons father to pay daycare. He doesnt really see his son expect for short visits to daycare, but that is because he claims not to have enough time. I am currently working full-time and attending school but I will be dropping down to part time in August to enter my degree program

Google SC DSS. There is a child support calculator on their website. You put in the information they ask for and it will calculate the standard child support. Child support amounts in South Carolina are set by the State legislature. There is a chart on the web site that shows how amounts are determined.

There are several factors that are taken into consideration in calculating child support. You can learn more about this subject here: http://www.scfamilylaw.com/2006/12/articles/financial-issues-/basic-principles-of-child-support/

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
