Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
I filled for divorce under no faults grounds but it should have been for mental and emotional cruelty! My husband is a porn addict and rejected me for that for 13 years. I asked him to leave and requested a divorce. I moved on during out separation and he now is getting me on fault grounds. However, my attorney asked for the case to be bifurcated because he was leaving for judicial position and this way we could settle all child custody and assets etc and bifurcated the marital portion. This was so the my husband could counter with adultry and I wouldn't need an attorney to get the divorce finalized. Well now he is saying he's not going to seek the divorce. What do I do? Can I just go to court house and file for it without an attorney since all matters are settled with exception of marital status?

Without knowing much more information, it's not possible to answer your question, as small details can change the advice that you would need. Filing something yourself is rarely a good idea in Family Court though, and that should be your last resort.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
