Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Can I be forced to testify in someone else's divorce (neighbors) and custody battle? We have adamatly stated to this couple that we refuse to have anything to do with this divorce. Now we've been threatened with a subpoena.

The short answer is "yes." If a valid subpoena is issued to you, then you must comply and appear in Court to testify. Should you refuse to do so, you could find yourself in contempt of court.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.SpartanburgLawyers.com). I wish you the best of luck.
