Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Gal fees

I have asked the Guardian ad Litem in my case to explain his billing as there are 20+ hours in his bill to ''Review'' case in one weeks time. Also there are different mileage charges to visit my house. Since my house has not moved and when I request to know how he can charge to this he refuses to answer me. I'm concerned he will now favor the opposing party as a result of my questioning his billing. Also, he is taking me to Family Court now over his billing. Do I have a right to question his billing and should I be worried about what this may have done for my case?

Re: Gal fees

You certainly have the right to scrutinize the GAL's bill, and your attorney should be able to help you do so. The GAL's bill should be accurate, and he/she should be willing to explain any questionable items to you.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
