my name is brigitte and i live in sc. I have been keeping my grandaughter since she has been born (nov 15,2007. She is 3 months old. Her parents dont do right by her or themselves. They fight all the time and she is in the middle of it. They have suspended licenses, They have warrants on them, they cant keep jobs, and he is up for molestation charges on my 4 yr old granddaughter who is with her other grandma cause he cant be around her. There are other things involved. my question is what do i do to get emergency custody on her? They now have left her with my husband and i for a couple of months they say till they can figure things out. what do i do and do i have a good chance? thank you

Typically, it is difficult for a non-parent to take custody from the biological parents. However, based on the information you provided, I certainly think that you stand a good chance of getting custody of this child if you act soon to do so.
