Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Grandparents Rights

My daughter is active military. After one year of keping my grandkids she gets deployed for 15 mo. and places the kids with an unknown caregiver and refuses to allow any contact with me. What can I do as a grandparent to exercise my right to visitation?

Re: Grandparents Rights

Both the US and SC Supreme Courts have held that the decisions of a fit parent with regard to allowing or preventing visitation with grandparents. If you can prove that she isn't fit, then you may be able to make some progress, but otherwise it is likely that you are out of luck.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
