Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Granparents rights
Our son was murdered and now our daughter in law will not allow us to have a relationship with our son's children. Two boy's ages 7 and 5. They were 3 and 17 months at the time of his death.
We had relationship issues with her from the start. We filed for visitation and mediation, but no success. Do to no cooperation, we changed our plea to visitation, custody or joint coustody. It's a long, messy story, but the latest is that she asked for psy evaluations for my wife and I. We agreed and asked that the daughter in law and her new husband also get tested. Now she will not cooperate with the doctors in allowing the process of evalation to be completed. A meeting is scheduled and she cancels or causes a conflict at the last second. This drags on and on.
My question is what can be done to get her to cooperate with the doctors and guardian at litem. All are very frustrated. We go on and on, even the judge gives direct orders to complete the evaluations, but she still causes havic.. any advice...we live in SC

Re: Granparents rights
If you have an attorney, you should discuss these issues with him and have him explain the contempt of court process, as that may be a good option for you at this point. If you do not have an attorney, you should get one immediately.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an _experienced_ family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
