Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Hospital Collection for a child in a divorce
My son had to go to the hospital
while living with my ex wife. She did
not inform me of the visit nor did
she inform me that she did not pay
the bill. The bill was in her name
and not mine. I was surprised to
find a collection on my Credit report
for $50 dollars. I don't mind paying
the $50 dollars but how do I get
the collection agent to remove the
collections since I was not aware of
the visit.

You should contact the collection agency to dispute the debt and/or ask for verification that it is _your_ debt. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act provides guidelines for you on both fronts.
