Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Before my ex husband and I were even seperated (we are divorced now) I got dental veneers done. We shared finances (joint accounts, credit cards, etc.) and he was well aware that I was getting it done. The cost was about $3k. Without my knowledge, he took a loan from his 401k to pay the credit card off. He told me about it once we started talking about separating. Today, SIX years after the procedure, and THREE years after our divorce, he wants me to pay him back. Does he have any legal grounds to sue me?

If the assets and debts were allocated in the divorce (as they should have been), then that distribution is final. If your husband wanted to make an issue of this expense, that would have been the time to do so.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
