Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

My husband went away for two weeks and would not leave me with any money to buy food. So i used his credit card to buy food untill he returned. Can he put me in jail?

Typically no, because the debt is presumed to be marital because it was incurred during the marriage and for a marital purpose. The Family Court would have the ability to allocate this debt, but whether law enforcement would choose to get involved is another question.
