Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Joint Custody
My ex Wife has asked me to take my daughter of 15 every other week . Can I get my child support cancelled because I believe this is considered joint custody

Re: Joint Custody
The change in the physical custody schedule may be used to obtain a change in child support. However, just because two parents have the child for equal amounts of time, it does not guarantee that there will be no child support.
For instance, if one parent pays for health insurance (or child care if the child was younger), or if one parent has a much higher income, the Child Support Guidelines can still require one parent to pay some support to the other.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
