Next of Kin

Hi my husbands little sister who is 5 has not seen her mother since December and her father passed last year. The grandmother is colecting social security on her and welfare but letting her daughter claim the money on her taxes but giving the mother the welfare benefits and she makes over 100,000.00 My husband being her brother we want custody of her and do not know how to do this. Do we have any rights?

Your husband has just as good of a claim to custody as the other relatives. Your husband needs to find a good attorney and bring an action for custody if that's what he thinks is in the child's best interest.
