Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Legal Seperation

I am dating a woman who has filed for a divorce in SC. SC requires a one year seperation before the divorce is granted. Can she date under the legal seperation?

Will there be any issues/problems if she continues to date under the legal seperation?

Re: Legal Seperation

She can date, but she may find herself being accused of adultery. If the adultery charge arises, it could have financial (or other) implications in her divorce case.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that your friend consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to her based on the facts of her particular case.
