Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
My Living Grandchildren
Berkeley County DSS received a complaint from me, the children's maternal grandmother, that my daughter was negligent with her children, which at the time, all were living here. The social worker took the children from my home and let the mother take them to KY. SC said they closed the case after they left SC,even though my daughter signed a high risk removal safety plan. Unfortunately, one of the girls were murdered by their step-dad sixty days later. Both parents are now serving life sentences. Before the trials were over, a family court judge allowed the living children to be adopted to paternal relatives. I want the children back with me. I've been told the only way to get them back is to have SC DSS help. How and what can I do ,to get them to help?

If the children have been adopted already, then your option is to attempt to overturn the adoption (or intervene in it if it is still pending). If you do not do so, then it will be difficult to get anything changed in the future.
