Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

marriage Laws

I am a 20 year old male, who is interested in getting married to a 16 year old female. We would like to get married in New Mexico or South Carolina. She lives with her mother who is against us getting married but her father has aproved to it. Can we get married in any state with just one parental signiture. Or must it be the signiture of the person who she is living with.

Please list any states

Re: marriage Laws

Only a parent or legal guardian can sign. As far as any other states that you can get married, you'll have to check with attorneys in those states. I personally am only licensed in SC., and do not know the laws of other states
