Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

During the process of my divorce, my husband lost his job and could not make payments on his vehicle which had my name on the loan. We had been seperated for 1 year and I am now divorced. My lawyer said that I had to pay the difference of $2800 after the resale of the vehicle to keep my credit clean. I am paying for both children's college and am having a hard time making ends meet since I am getting no support from my ex. What should I do? Pay it or try to explain to the credit bureau the circumstances?

Hard working nurse.

John Jackson Law Office of John A. Jackson, P.C.

Pay it. You are on the loan and therefore you are responsible. Not fair in your case but that is the law. Depending on whether or not the finance company knew of your situation you may have some leverage to negotiate with them. If you like call my office to schedule a consultation.
