Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

question about divorce

I found a web page on "do it yourself divorce" and I am trying to figure out what to do after I have filled out the divorce forms. Do I have to take the forms to a lawyer or can I have them legalized myself. If so, how do I do that?

Thank You!

Re: question about divorce

Without seeing what "form" you used, and without speaking with you to get the facts of your specific case, no attorney can possibly give an intelligent answer as to what you need to do now to get your divorce underway and to then make certain you are in fact legally divorced and that the divorce does as you intend.

Take things in to a local lawyer and find out exactly what you need to do.

Divorce is a serious legal step which has long-term consequences, many of them having major financial effects.

Pay a local attorney to at the very least review these "forms" with you and to help point you in the right direction after discussing matters with you to help decide if you are doing things right.
