You need a lawyer. They have to feed their family just like you. Their time and knowledge of the law is what they sell. Without a lawyer, you will risk losing because representing yourself means you have a fool for a client. Try to work out some payment plan. Try to give something to the lawyer for security; maybe jewelry, mortgage on your car or real property, guns, coin collection. If your custody of your child is the best thing for your child. Find an attorney who will represent you.
Call the South Carolina Bar Association for help if you are unable to pay. Sometimes an attorney will donate representation to a worthy cause. My knowledge of this State's Bar points to your ability to get help from competent lawyers when the need is truly present. I am amazed at the amount of free services willingly given by attorneys in this State to those who are truly in need.
