Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Releasing your attorney

I recently released my attorney; I had to sign a form that was to be signed by my former husband's attorney. I have waited for over 6 days with no copy of my signed form. What can I do to speed up this process? I want to seek a new attorney but cannot until this is cleared up. Please help!

Re: Releasing your attorney

It typically takes a week to ten days for a Consent Order Relieving Counsel to be circulated through the attorneys, the Judge, and the Clerk of Court. You should have received a copy of that document when you signed it, and that is all you should need to begin meeting with new attorneys. If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
