Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Can you revisit alimony
My sister's husband cheated on
her with someone at his job
because of this he lost his job,
he cashed in all their money
from his pension and left her
flat. She got a lawyer and he
did not do her right. He makes
6 fiqures(he was at time of
divorce but was currently
unemployed then) they were
married 30 years she helped
him get where he is and raised
his three kids she got nothing.
That lawyer should have asked
for alimony. she makes 15,000
as a receptionist and has
nothing to fall back on and
currently is having a very hard
time. That lawyer should have
helped her get alimony as he
then got another job. i do
think she was fairly
represented. She lives in SC.
Can she go back to court and
ask for alimony? It really
should be more fair to her. He
is still making six figures and
she has trouble eating. Is
there a way for her to get
justice? can you recommend a
lawyer she lives in Myrtle
Beach.

Re: Can you revisit alimony
If she is already divorced, then she will not be able to revisit alimony. You say that the lawyer should have asked for it for her, but you should keep in mind that the attorney worked for her. If she instructed him not to do so, then he could not have done it, even if he wanted to do so.
