Separation time

Why are there laws stating how long you must be separated or living apart before you can file a no fault divorce?

Re: Separation time

The divorce laws in SC were written by the SC Legislature, and they have the power to change them. If you disagree with the current law(s), you can contact your local state representative and/or senator to make him/her aware of your concerns and wishes.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
