1 Answer from Attorneys
In certain situations, it's possible to get the opposing attorney to grant you an extension to file your responsive pleadings. Whether he will or won't will depend on certain factors, including whether you have an attorney and if so, the relationship that your attorney has with him.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
