Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

I went to court today for a prose divorce and the judge said i needed a continuance because he wasnt served correctly.She suggested i seek legal advice n who can serve him. I looked it up online and it said anyone not directly related to the action and over 18 could serve him. Is this true? If so then why was it not correct for my dad to have served him?

Without knowing more information, it is impossible to answer your question. Service of process is a very techinical procedure, and everything must be adhered to specifically.
