Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Settlement of Child Support and Visitation Issues
My estranged husband and I have had a long and drawn out divorce because of child visitation issues. We are scheduled to go to court in two months for our final hearing. He called me yesterday to tell me that he would be willing to agree to what I am asking for in terms of visitation in exchange for my withdrawing my request for back child support and for agreeing to allow him to pay less child support than the state guidelines. Would the courts allow this? I personally am more than willing to agree to this because my children's safety and well-being are more important to me than receiving more money from him. Thank you.

Re: Settlement of Child Support and Visitation Issues
There is probably a way to make this work, but you need to discuss the details with your attorney. If you don't have an attorney, you should certainly consult an experienced family law attorney to discuss this matter further.
If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
