Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

What can of settlement can I possibly expect to receive, if we divorce after 9 or 10 years of marriage. The house was mine before we married. I did a home equity line on my home to help him with taxes he owed on his savings when he changed jobs for $12,000. He then forged my name on a $6,000 loan from Beneficial @ 24%. I needed to consolidate and refinance my home in order to pay off most of the bills he had created and paid off his double wide trailer payment in the process, which saved him $370 a month.

Without knowing much more information, it's not possible to answer your question. There are many factors that are taken into consideration when equitably dividing the marital assets and debts, and without knowing all of the necessary information no one can give you even an estimate.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
