Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

I have shared custody with my ex of our 2 under 18 yr old boys. Our 21 yr old daughter lives with my husband and I and is a full time student. I have boys 3 nights a week, and he has them 4. this arrangement has been in effect for 2 years. How difficult is it to change the amount of court awarded child support I pay him monthly? I feel that I pay in excess (I have looked at SC child support calculator). I would love to challenge him for primary custody, but am afraid that there is not enough to overturn decision (I agreed then based on my work schedule).

If you can show that there has been a change of circumstances since the child support was calculated, then you can seek a modification. However, that could result in his attempting to change the custody/visitation arrangements anyway. These issues are complicated and intertwined, so it is important that they be handled correctly.

You should consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
