Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

If my son goes to the hospital with his pregnant ex-girlfriend, and she identifies him as being the father to all hospital personal, and lists him as the father, does he have 100% rights to that child as she does, and can he request a DNA test be done at the hospital since he has been identified as the father?

If he is the father, then he will have rights to the child, but if he isn't, then he won't - even if his girlfriend accuses him of being the father. Now, with regard to the rights that he will have if he is the father, he may need to go to Court to enforce those rights.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
