Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Son wants to live with us but lives with his mother in South Carolina
My son lives with his mother in south carolina. She has primary custody but he wants to live with my wife and I. He is 14 years old and wants to live with us. How or what do I have to do to get him to live with us in North Carolina? We are of a christian faith and attend church regularly, my brother-in-law is our pastor and he enjoys church and feels like he wants to attend church but his mother does not view spirituality the same way he and we do. We also have two other boys and a girl that he loves as well and gets along with. The bottom line is his wish and desire is to live with us. What do we have to do?

If you can't get your exwife to agree to a change of custody, then you can petition the South Carolina family court and let them decide who the child should live with. The court will base its decision what is in the, "best interest of the child."
