Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

My son now lives with his mother he's 18 and still in school. My mother has custody and my son's mother wants me to pay her child support. Do I have to pay?

You must abide by the terms of the last Order until it no longer applies or you have it changed. Typically child support runs until the child turns 18 or graduates from high school, whichever is later. Therefore, if the Order requires you to pay child support to the mother and the child is still in high school, then you must pay her until and unless you file an action to have the Court issue a new Order.
