Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

stepparent adotion laws and cost

my daughter's biological father has not been in her life for at least 3 years. I have been married for a little over 2 yrs. My husband wants to adopt her and i want to know what are the laws concerning this and how much it could all cost us so that we may plan ahead and start saving money to do this. My husband is the only father she knows and loves. He is also a minister, hence the financial question. thank you for your service.

There is a lot involved in what you are asking. But, I can tell you this, you seem to have an ideal situation for an adoption. As far as price, it varies. Lawyers will charge you anywhere between $1,500 and $5000.
