Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
stopping alamony
I have been paying alamony since 1997. The divorce was uncontested . We have 2 kids (21 and 23 yrs old) with full time jobs living at hm. My ex-wife works full time and is a manager at a well paying job. I live in SC and she lives in VA where the divorce was finalized. How long and how much would it cost to stop the alamony.

Re: stopping alamony
If the divorce was done in Virginia and she still lives there, then the action must be filed in Virginia. You should consult with an attorney there to discuss your options.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
