Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

TN/SC custody modification

So, divorce just finalized in tn...father has 1 child in SC, my ex wife has the other 3 in TN...they live in a 2 BR 'house' with her and boyfriend;shes is currently pregnant by this man...already she is not holding up her end of the custody agreement saying she cant afford to meet me at the halfway point to swap kids.I want to seek custody of them, even if on a temp basis. I have a 3 BR home in SC, near schools, etc..any chance at going and getting the custody order modified and getting maybe joint custody, i.e. a few months with me then a few months with her? Kids are 13 (lives with me), 10, 9, and almost 8), three younger are 2 boys, and 1 girl (shes 10), share same bedroom in small house. Thanks in advance

Re: TN/SC custody modification

If you are asking where the case must be filed, it sounds (from the limited information you provided) that a modification action will need to be filed in TN for the children that resides with her.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
