Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

trouble

Hello I am having trouble with stepmother that is legally a mental ill and she has filed false reports on me concerning issues with my stepchildren she has also contacted my employers and deflamated my character to them concerning her reports the county court has a long list of dealings with her and my father has no control what is the best way to get the matter resolved and restore my good standind in a timely fashion the sitiuation is very humiliating and until the family services wrap up whatever investigation they are doing I will be vindicated but this should have never been allowed to happen anyways. The stepmother was told not to call or contact my home by me so that is why she phoned my stepchildrens father and allied with him ?

Re: trouble

If there is a Family Court case pending now, the Court can issue a Restraining Order to prohibit some of the conduct you describe. If not, Magistrate Court might be able to issue a Restraining Order under certain circumstances.

If she has defamed you, you may also be able to sue her in civil court for money damages. However, unless she has significant assets to recover a judgment, that might be a waste of time and resources.
