Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

help for underage child of divorced parents

I have an 8 year old grandson

whose parents are divorced

his dad refuses to get involved in his sons scouts or

sports activities and will not allow is ex to take their son to these events if they fall on the father's visitation weeks. We cannot afford an attorney for our grandson and neither can his mother as the father is self employed and lies about his income to keep getting his child-support reduced. We live in south carolina and the father lives in north carolina.

Our grandson misses out on everything because of this situation and we don't know how to help the little guy out?

Can you point us in the direction of perhaps some free

help or internet sites where we can find help?

The only remedy to the situation you describe is to have the Family Court address this situation. As for free legal services, you can try the S.C. Bar Pro Bono Program and/or contact your local legal aid office. I wish you the best of luck.
