Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina
Visitation
My fiance and his ex girlfriend both lost visitation to thier daughter, who was placed with a grandmother as guardian. DSS is not a part of the case, can my fiance and the grandmother simply put into writing a visitation agreement for SC and have it filed in the court and us be able to get the child on a regular schedule? Do we need an attorney or is this a simple matter?

Re: Visitation
If they were able to just reach an agreement and don't have it approved by the Court, it will not be enforceable. He would be better served by reaching an agreement, having it approve, and making sure that it is valid and enforceable.
These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
