Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Will - South Carolina

I want to purchase a Will, but first I want to make sure that the Will I will be purchasing from FindLegalForms is something that will be recognized by law by the State of Carolina. Also, will I have to get it notorized?

Re: Will - South Carolina

If you buy a "pre-made" legal form like that, you are getting the "advice" that you are paying to receive. Having a valid Will is one of the most important things that people can do, and I cannot imagine why someone would not be willing to spend a nominal amount of money (perhaps a couple of hundred dollars) to make sure that everything is drafted correctly.

If your Will is declared invalid because it does not meet all of the requirements in S.C. and your estate goes somewhere other than where you intended, your disinherited heirs will certainly wish that you had not pinched pennies in this instance.

FindLegalForms will not be there for you if you have questions, nor will it likely have any malpractice insurance if mistakes are made. However, they will gladly take your money to give you a "cookie-cutter" solution to a very personal and unique set of facts.

I hope that you see the points I am trying to make and that you now realize how important it is for this to be done correctly. The SC Bar Lawyer Referral Service can give you the names of a few local attorneys who can handle this for you (the right way) at a reasonable cost.

Good luck... Ben Stevens
