Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina

auto co-signer

I purchased a vehicle in november of 2002 and had to have a friend co-sign along on the contract....this person and i are no longer friends as of sept.5 2003...in mid sept. this person came to my home unlocked the car with a key that he somehow had duplicated and locked himself in the car so that i could not get in,drove off,and pulled over a short distance up the street and let a friend of his then drive the car off...he had the other person drive offbecause he does not have a drivers license...i am the person that made all payments on the car...he never made a payment on the car...i dont have all receipts but the finance company would have a copy of every payment sent by western union with my sinature...is there anything i can do to get my car back, cause this person said to me that this car is now his and i will not be getting it back...i have invested too much money in this car to lose it like this

Re: auto co-signer

I understand what you said about your friend co-singing on the contract. But you neglected to state who's name(s) the title is in. Who ever has their name on the title is the one who owns the car.
