Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina

Please help my credit

Please help!

I am 22 and a new mother.

2 years ago me and my boyfriend split up, we had an apartment together,we were both on the lease, when we split and before we signed the paper taking him off the lease we verbally agreed to split any damages that were incurred. Needless to say 2 years later and nothing, and now this has been put on my credit.Keep in mind that in the 7 months we hadthe apartment, he worked maybe 5 weeks. Also, we tried to get back together and he had bought a house, well he didn't have hardly nothing i gave him a washer,dryer,stereo,VCR,and many other things. WHAT DO I DO?? Can i first make a request in writing and send it certified mail before going any further??
