Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina

drugs

my son was recently stopped by the police, the officer accused him of having marijuana in his possession, which they stated to he that he ''chewed and swallowed'' no evidence, or proof of the substance. He went to jail, next day P.R bond. Court was set for Feb 23 of '07. The officer stated to the judge that IF my son plead guilty, that he would recommend PTI. My son plead not guilty, so the officer asked for a continuence because the lab test hasn't come through. ok, today, March 21 they served hy son the warrent in court, yet the officer didn't show up in court and yet another continuence until the 28 of this month. Mind you on the warrent the officer stated that my son had crack cocaine in his possession, .2 grams (to be exact) The officer Never mentioned to me when I talked to him and the other officers. All they told me was that he chewed marijuana, I asked to see it, they stated that he aet it. Ok, if he ate marijuane, where did that crack cocaine come from? My son is 17 yrs.c

Re: drugs

I would love to answer you question but I am afraid that I am at just as much of a disadvantage as you are. Usually on the warrant or an affidavit attached to it they will state where the drugs were found. Please understand that Possession of Cocaine is a felony and I strongly suggest your son seek an attorney. I am available if you would like to ask any further questions. Robert Johnston
