Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina

illegally obtaining a credit report

I have just become aware that my credit report was obtained for personal use by my ex-wife while she was employed in S.C. She did this through the business at which she was employed.

What are the implications of this and how severe are the laws regarding this behavior? Is there a statute of limitation to litigate this wrongdoing?

Re: illegally obtaining a credit report

Certainly your ex-wife

violated your privacy

rights. In my opinion,

you should make a police

report locally and take

the report to the office

of your local prosecutor

to see if they will prosecute

her, if that is how far

you want to take it.
