Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina

Neighbor removed shrubs on property

My neighbor cut down a 25' tall row of shrubs bordering on our property line (approx. 150 long). The plants are on my side of the property. He has been trimming them but has cut them down to a 1' from the ground. They will die from this. These plants were invaluable from a $ amount and now I have two eyesores, the stumps AND his house. What recourse do I have?

Re: Neighbor removed shrubs on property

Due to the specific and sometime peculiar laws govening real estate, you should consult with an attorney that focuses on Real Estate Litigation. Had the shrubs been growing on your property or on his property, then your question would not be difficult. However, since the shrubs were "bordering" both properties, your options could get tricky. Good luck.
