Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina
Owed money by friend overseas
I visited a friend in Australia Sept 2001. I put a hotel reservation on my credit card w/the verbal promise that he would pay me back as soon as his credit card company credited his card back. He owes me close to $350 American dollars and I cant get him to pay me. I just want to know if there is anything I can pursue that could put pressure on him to pay up. I didnt know if it was possible to pursue legal action against someone overseas? Do I have any ground to stand on and pursue legal action against him?

You can threaten to sue him, but that's about it. If he is in the military he has special protection for being out of the county. Good Luck.
