What can I do to protect my family from a man thet has tormented us for years?

My family has been tormented by a man for years. He was convicted of child endangerment on my 3 yr. old son and got 2 years probation. Two years later, he was tried for simple assault on my wife but was found not guilty even with witnesses. Recently, he had a 13 yr. old girl ram my car, in my yard, with a 4-wheeler. No one will help us because he is an older gentleman and they don't see how he could do this. I don't know if I can take any legal action? I need help!
