Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina

New roof leaks and roofer is out of business

I had a new roof put on my house about 6 months ago. Shortly after work was completted there was a leak that caused some of the blown ceiling to fall. Roffer came back and made repairs to roof but chose to wait to make sure problem was fixed before repairing the ceiling. Just recently during a very heavy rain, that spot leaked again and another has appeared. The roofing company's phone has been disconnected and they cannot be reached. I called another company to fix the leaks and they informed me that the roofing job is substandard. What course of action can I take against this company. The owner still lives here in town.

If the original roofing company will not respond to your calls, letters, etc., then you may have no choice but to sue them.
