Legal Question in Civil Litigation in South Carolina
Statute Of Limitations
We are filing a civil case agianst the mother of my fiance. She is holding money that he made from a Profit sharing program at a company he worked for.
The question we have is, does the statute of limitations start when the case if filed, or did it start when the money was put into the account?
Also, we are not even sure if the statute of limitations applies in this case?
We are filing this claim in small claims court in South Carolina.
If you need more infomation please let us know.
Any information or help you could give us would be greatly appreciated.
Have a good day.
Thank You,
Kathy Ramsey

Re: Statute Of Limitations
The statute of limitations usually starts from the time of the incident, or in some cases, from when a person first learned of it. I have no idea about how any applicable statute would apply in your situation as I don't know anything about the case. As with any legal matter, you should go meet wtth an attorney.
