Legal Question in Immigration Law in South Carolina

2nd AOS Interview Divorced

Hello, I just had my 2nd interview for a waiver of conditional on my Green Card. I showed the divorce paper, joint bank accounts, child support and visitation order on our son etc... The officer questioned me about why we separated and I told the truth that she as bipolar and very abusive verbally and later, physically, and that I never were agressive (hiiting) her. Our last argument she called the police, mas there was chages files and the police told us both that we could place each other under a restraining order, I did not persue that but she did. The officer was very rude all the time and said straight out he does not believe me. He said he tends to belive when someone does not accept gild means that person is guilty... then he said I could get my documents together and go home that he would judge my case and I would get a letter by mail? Can you help me understand what they might do? It's been 2 weeks and I'm a little nervous!

Re: 2nd AOS Interview Divorced

USCIS will either approve or deny your I-751 petition. Did you have an attorney representing you throughout this process? Did you have evidence that your spouse was bipolar and abusive, and if so, did you submit such proof to USCIS? Your case is rather complicated and it sounds like you unfortunately ended up with a difficult officer handling your petition. I would advise that you retain an immigration attorney to follow up on your I-751 petition. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like further assistance.
