Legal Question in Immigration Law in South Carolina
My ex husband is a green card holder in the United States through marriage and is living in South Carolina, I have custody of my two children and we are all Zimbabwean citizens living in Zimbabwe, my ex husband who lives in America would like to take my special needs son (16 years old) to the USA for schooling. I am concerned about my rights as a mother once he is that side and would like to know where I stand as the custodian from another country as I don’t want a situation where I feel he needs to come back to Zimbabwe and I am blocked as he would be under his father and his stepmother's guardianship while he is living there and going to school in the USA. Basically I am afraid I could lose my son once he is that side therefore I need any information that can give me some sort of satisfaction of my rights as his mother in Zimbabwe if I am not a US Citizen or green card holder.

Unfortunately, this is primarily a State Family Law question, so you would need to re-direct your question to a Family Law attorney in S. Carolina. You also should consult with an attorney in Zimbabwe. This is a difficult situation. Good luck.
