Legal Question in Immigration Law in South Carolina
Can an LPN from CANADA work in the USA
I am an LPN fr. CANADA, presently in Columbia, South Carolina. I have written the NCLEX (4hr. nursing exam) for South Carolina and passed, I also have had my credentials checked with the Graduate School of Foreign Nurses in Philadelphia. Lots of job offers, but Immigration says I need a sponsor, and they must pay $1.800 send forms to NEBRASKA? and wait 9 months. Is there not a quicker way since lots of jobs avail. for me to be able to get a Social Security number and work in the States?

If you are not a Canadian citizen, H1B visa is the only visa you should apply for. You do need a qualified job offer from a sponsor, who is willing to pay various fees. It is also recommended to hire an immigration attorney. The visa may only be available to you in October 2007, unless you find a job in a qualified non-profit organization. In order to be able to get your visa in October you need to file your visa application on or about April 1, 2007.
