HELP with landlord

I fell through the floor at our rental home..I have head and face and leg injuries.I contacted landlord he said he dont own home fully yet so someone else has homeowners insurance on our home.he said he would get that info for me but in mean time he wants to repair floor before insurance co comes to look at damages.is this right?shouldnt insurance co see damages first?please respond back soon.thankyou tammy

It sounds like he wants to fix the floor so no one else gets hurt, which is a good idea. You can search the court records to find who the owner is and contact them yourself. You can also take pictures of the damage and have a qualified carpender or home builder come look at the floor and later testify about it if necessary.
